Math Bowl is a state-sponsored math competition open to all students in grades four to six. Practices begin after school in January. The competition is held one evening in the end of February when our team competes against other schools from the diocese. In the spring of 2015, our Math Bowl team placed #15 in the state out of approximately 115 schools participating. For more information, please contact Miss Wannemuehler from our Home Page.
Math Olympiad is open to all middle school students and high ability fifth graders. It provides opportunities for those students who need additional challenges in mathematics and problem solving. We have students compete in the elementary division (grades 5 and 6) and the middle school division (grades 6-8). Students meet weekly during SRT time to practice skills. They compete in five monthly contests from November through March, and their scores earn them rankings both at the school level and national level. In 2014/15, our first year to have a Middle School Math Olympiad team, several of our students placed in the top 20, 30, and 40 percent of all 21,416 students competing nationwide.
