Our faculty, staff and School Council are striving to continuously meet the changing needs of our students. St. John the Baptist Catholic School is an innovative community of learners dedicated to helping ALL students grow, create, collaborate, contribute, and thrive.
The School Council, along with the technology committee, has dedicated much time and effort over the last few years preparing for and developing 1:1 technology program for our school. Beginning with the 2015-2016 school year, we inaugurated our 1:1 technology program at SJB Catholic School, by providing an iPad device for every student in sixth through eighth grade. This program is now extended to the entire school as students in grades 4-8 are issued a Chromebook, and students in grades K-3 each have a classroom iPad to use. We intend to capitalize on digital opportunities while still providing the face-to-face relational support between students, teachers, and parents.
Here at St. John the Baptist Catholic School we are very blessed to be the first school in Warrick County to provide middle school students with the advancement of a 1:1 academic program. Similar to technology, education is ever-changing, and implementing this program is another way we will meet the needs of our 21st Century learners.
Each device is set up to carefully control content, and each student signs a St. John the Baptist School Technology Agreement. This Agreement strictly prohibits inappropriate use. Our students keep their iPads throughout the year, except for the Christmas break and the end of the year.
